Close the computer, eyes buggy from intensely staring at the computer for hours. Neck sore from protruding forward – the poster today – well I loved the poster I got to create today. Entitled “Get Hydrated” with all these facts of how good water is for the human body.
A friend of mine that was homeless travels around with ice cubs in what he calls sippy cups. All the women he dates acting like little girls he complains.
The philanthropist that requested the poster after installing a water filtration system at the shelter might be pleased. It has all these water creatures on it coming out of a tap looking healthy and alive. Plus I was pleased with my title of “Get Hydrated,” felt it really fit the demographic. Yes, the homeless need so much, some would argue this city’s tap water is clean enough.
All of us girls in the office are doing yoga a few times a week. The girls or young women in the office are mostly younger than me, looking for Mr. Right, except the one who married a fellow she had been with since elementary school. I have tons of stories to match their experience yet, I do not tell. Carry on. How is it that basically what we all have in common is access to clean water? I fill up my water bottle at the water cooler, slip a yoga mat bag over my shoulder and prance down the stairs. Past a white bearded fellow with yellow stains in his hair and hands. Grateful not to smoke myself. I just nod, at the glimmer of sparkle in his eyes. How’s my friend’s sippy cup with ice and water compared to some of these here filling their flasks with rye and water.
How is it we all have access to clean water?
The yoga studio is up the downtown street away from the core of downtown. On the former electric avenue, where 20 years earlier I drank and danced with friends.
